Graphic Republik give Label Expo premier to MaxColor and Smart Screen
London (England), September 20th 2013 – Graphic Republik, the European provider of software for pre-press, colour conversion and proofing will give a Label Expo premier to their 2011 and 2012 Flexotech award winning Prepress solutions.
Whilst partnering with Dantex (5D20) and Epson (9H50), Graphic Republik will showcase both the MaxColor Multi-colour conversion and Smart Screen Flexo and Letterpress screening solutions, so providing visitors the opportunity to “see what the judges saw”
“Label Expo provides us with a fabulous stage to demonstrate our award winning Prepress solutions” commented Steve Donegan, at Graphic Republik. “In 2011, with the Star Proof and Epson WT7900 combination, we brought high quality dot proofing on multiple substrates with white ink. This year, it is the turn of Flexo and Letterpress screening and Multi Colour conversion.”
Smart Screen, the 2012 winner of the Flexotech Prepress Innovation award, is an independent screening solution for the Flexo and Letterpress industry. It has been developed to work with digital imagers at standard or high resolutions. It enables extremely small dots to be generated, meaning that the smallest possible screened dot in the print image is 1%. It is easily implemented into existing workflows and requires minimal changes in Prepress or Print room – either in process or hardware adjustments.
Also on show will be the 2011 innovation winner, MaxColor, which has been developed to automatically reduce separations and/or convert CMYK Separations to spot colours. The resultant print uses less ink, with more vibrant colours and a better quality registration whether printing Gravure, Flexo or UV Offset.
From a proofing perspective, visitors will be able to see high quality inkjet raster proofs, with Star Proof driving the Epson WT7900 and Surecolour 70600 devices with support for both white and metallic inksets.
To fully compliment the needs of the Label industry, Star Plate will be on show producing Imagesetter-quality HD Flexo films from inkjet devices, perfect for producing negative films for use in Flexo and Letterpress platemaking. Star Plate also utilizes Smart Screen technology, enabling users to produce high density films at screen rulings up to 200lpi.
